Student Poems

My Darkness
by Dakota

the moon's hallow gaze seems to pulse as it
dances across my skin.
the world has come undone,
under the light of the sun.
stars will forever remember a time when
we were no longer lost
when we were no longer chained.

awakening daylight locks us away,
dreams are damned to forever be dreams.
death succumbs to us all before the stars can
tell their secrets.
whispered lullaby and silent tears
never shall they hear our prayers

for only moon knows the power of darkness.
angels rise only to fall again
pure mystical beauty goes unseen
only sometime around midnight
you lose yourself for a few sacred moments

the lonely line of carnivorous warriors quarreling on
immense mountain ranges
these trees breath crisp new air cleansed by rain
never will they bow
up until the ends of the earth
they will stand.

a lone figure, leaning unguarded upon the ancient
warrior
every lion's grace and stamina shone through
his stance

hair as dark as the blackness surrounding him
eyes that capture you i their depths shimmering
like the stars
equipped with the face and body of a fallen
immortal

a cocky smirk beamed with wisdom
the warm embrace of night's depths
rain's perfume leaked from his gleaming face
for I am no longer lost
forever unchained

daylight shrivels beneath his silver blade
so leave me here forever in the dark
